A conversation
One day, my roommate and I were talking about how inactive the open-source club at Manipal Institute of Technology Bengaluru seemed. While we were chatting, I opened our college’s website to see whether the club even had an official site. There was a club description and a link to its website, but the college’s website itself hadn’t been updated in two years.
The plot twist
I then tried opening Codex’s website, only to find it offline. Curious, I looked up the domain on Namecheap to see whether it was still registered. That’s when we discovered the real surprise: it was not registered.
Why not?
Here was a technical club whose website was offline and which had seemed largely inactive since our first year of college. And its domain was available for just two dollars and eighteen cents. My roommate and I figured, why not? So we bought it.
